A rally was held at the state Capitol in support of my legislation to outlaw the slaughter or sale of dogs and cats for human consumption. Surprisingly, butchering cats and dogs is not now illegal in our state. Consequently, law enforcement is powerless to act about (thankfully infrequent) reports of slaughterhouses.
House Bill 1750
would make it a crime and impose stiff penalties for anyone convicted of doing so.
