Insight on DEP Rulemaking
During the budget hearing for the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), Rep. John Maher (R-Allegheny/Washington) questioned DEP Secretary John Quigley about his agency's transparency concerning draft regulations pertaining to surface activity of oil and gas drillers. The draft regulations are to be considered by the Oil and Gas Technical Advisory Board (TAB) at its meeting on March 20, yet Maher questioned whether the board has its full complement of members and would have the ability to thoughtfully read and consider the voluminous regulatory document in the limited time available.
